Worth knowing
Salt-free: the maker says it crystallizes hardness so it does not stick as scale, and that it will not make water feel slick or stop spotting the way a salt softener does. Maker limits: hardness up to 81 gpg, pH 7.0 to 9.5, free chlorine up to 3 ppm, and zero iron, manganese, copper, oil and hydrogen sulfide. The manual says not to install it on well water without first talking to SpringWell. No salt, drain or electricity, per the maker. Includes a sediment pre-filter. Price recorded is the $2,100 MSRP; SpringWell showed $1,785 on Oct. 4, 2026. No replacement media price is listed.
