What it costs over five years

Replaced on the maker’s interval, the schedule the fridge’s own filter light keeps, at list price. Every filter is counted: the one that came with the fridge is long gone. It is rated for 200 gallons, so a household drawing more than about 1.1 gallons a day through the fridge runs it out sooner.

Worth knowing

Kenmore sells its filters through Sears PartsDirect, which belongs to the same company; Kenmore’s own site sends buyers there, so the price here is Sears PartsDirect’s. Its online price was $90.89 on Oct. 10, 2026; the list price is used here. Sears PartsDirect names only the most common models that take it, so many Kenmore refrigerators that use it aren’t listed: the number on your old filter, or your fridge’s manual, is the surest match. Kenmore says 9490 substitutes for part ADQ73613402, the number NSF lists it under.
