What it costs over five years

Replaced on the maker’s interval, the schedule the fridge’s own filter light keeps, at list price. Every filter is counted: the one that came with the fridge is long gone. It is rated for 240 gallons, so a household drawing more than about 1.3 gallons a day through the fridge runs it out sooner.

Where these lists come from

Sears PartsDirect, Kenmore’s parts store: the most common models using EDR5RXD1, checked Oct. 10, 2026

Worth knowing

None of the refrigerators Whirlpool sells today takes it, so it fits older models; your fridge’s manual names its filter. The Kenmore models are from Sears PartsDirect, Kenmore’s parts store, which names only the most common ones. Whirlpool’s store showed a sale price below list on Oct. 9, 2026; the list price is used here. Kenmore’s 9085 is replaced by this filter: Sears PartsDirect now sends EDR5RXD1 for it.
