What it costs over five years

Replaced on the maker’s interval, the schedule the fridge’s own filter light keeps, at list price. Every filter is counted: the one that came with the fridge is long gone. It is rated for 500 gallons, so a household drawing more than about 2.7 gallons a day through the fridge runs it out sooner.

Where these lists come from

Worth knowing

LG names the filter on each refrigerator’s own page rather than on the filter’s, so this list comes from every LG refrigerator page on lg.com. Older models LG no longer has a page for are missing; your fridge’s manual names its filter. Its listing is NSF/ANSI 42 only: chlorine taste and odor, and particles, with no health claims. LG’s page title says 200 gallons; its specifications and the listing say 500, which is used here.
